I'm Vanessa Lazaro, a bridal and special event makeup artist based in the Outer Banks. I've been doing this since 2016 — eleven years of faces, early mornings and wedding-day timelines. What I care about is that you look like yourself on your wedding day, just the most confident version, and that the makeup holds up in every photograph from the first look to the last dance. I work on-location across OBX, Elizabeth City and coastal Virginia, and I'm part of the team at Glimmer Hair & Makeup. English / Español.
My story...
I've been doing makeup since 2016. I started in Miami, where gala inspired looks filled my books, then Atlanta, where the work was fast and the lights were unforgiving — editorial shoots, galas, live television.
I've done makeup for one of the hosts of Miss Universe (2020). That kind of work teaches you something specific: makeup doesn't have to
look good in the mirror. It has to look good in the photograph, under a light you didn't get to choose, six hours after you put it on.
Then I moved to the Outer Banks.
Out here the work is different. Slower, and much more personal.
It's a hotel room at seven in the morning with six women, one
bathroom, and a timeline that's already running behind. It's
the mother of the bride who tells you she never wears makeup, and then goes quiet when she sees herself.
I love it more than anything I did in the city.
What I bring into that room is ten years of faces and the habit of working under pressure without making anyone feel rushed. I'll listen to what you actually want — not what the last five brides wanted. I'll match your energy and give you the best possible outcome. I’m focused on creating perfection that highlights your features.
